We are excited to bring back an Independence Day celebration with fireworks to Newton! Head over to Athletic Park on Friday, July 3 from 5-10:30pm for a great evening of community fun. With 16 food and drink vendors, lots of family friendly activities and games planned, 2 concerts, and a fireworks show the evening is sure to be one you won't forget. Make sure to come hungry and grab food from your favorite vendor. There will be seating available in the band shell, stadium, and on the field so bring blankets, stadium seats, and folding chairs.
Duck Into Downtown for Summer Sales July 2 & 3. There will be 250 patriotic ducks hidden throughout Downtown at participating locations to celebrate America's 250th birthday. Once you find a duck turn it in and fill out a slip to be entered to win the grand prize, a downtown gift basket. We will draw a random winner on Monday, July 6th.
The 78th Annual Fastpitch Softball Tournament will be held July 3-5 at Athletic Park & Centennial Park. he festivities begin on July 3rd at 5:30pm with the Azteca Dance Troupe followed by the Opening Ceremonies at 6pm. After the opening ceremonies their traditional Old Timers Game will take the field. Game play will be July 4-5 at Athletic Park & Washington Park. Come out and support this great tradition in our community.
We are excited to announce that Honeytown, an Ohio based band, will be in Newton on July 10th for a great concert. Come out to the Mural at Mostaza for some wonderful music! They have an unpredictable folk americana, rock and roll, and progressive bluegrass blend. Seating for the concert will be available in the parking lot behind Mostaza.
Celebrate 15 years of unforgettable events at the Meridian Event Center with dinner, dancing, live entertainment provided by The George Sanders Blues Band, a champagne toast, and special surprises throughout the evening.

The Newton Community Theatre is presenting Footloose on July 17-19 at the Newton High School Auditorium. Footloose is the electrifying Broadway musical based on the iconic 1984 film that defined a generation. Packed with unforgettable hits of the 80's. Tickets are $15 each and are general admission. Proceeds from ticket sales allow Newton Community Theatre to provide performance opportunities for actors, vocalists, and musicians while bringing live theatre to our area.
Harvey County is once again gearing up for the County Fair. Head over to the fairgrounds July 30-August 9 to see all of the 4H exhibits, carnival rides, food trucks, derbies, concerts, and more!
The 4H Fair will run July 30-August 3 and the Free Fair will take place August 6-9.
