Parking Map

There are numerous free parking options for you to come enjoy Downtown Newton. Main Street features parallel parking spaces while the side streets have angled parking. The City of Newton has various free public parking lots available. Many of the Downtown businesses have entrances located in the alley behind their business making off Main Street parking advantageous.

There are also bike racks spread throughout Downtown. Come enjoy Downtown Newton!

Notorious Newton Tour

Learn about Newton's Massacre and how we got the reputation as Bloody Newton and the nickname "Wickedest in the West". Even though Newton was the latest rail head for the AT&SF, law enforcement was completely absent in 1871 and into early 1872. Cowboys, saloon owners, and drifters of all types found their way to Newton in the summer of 1871 and led to Newton being described as "hell upon Earth, with all it's horrors". This area was the setting for the most violent incidents in early Newton. Now Newton is quiet and respectable, the places on this tour once were part of Notorious Newton.
