We Are Newton shirts have closed the ordering. You can still purchase Newton Apparel from the Athletic Booster Club at many home sporting events and at the September Third Thursday Downtown. 

This year the Newton Athletic Booster Club is selling a shirt for all students, teachers, staff, and community members to show off their Railer Pride. This shirt was designed specifically for Homecoming and Railer Fridays and is being sold for $10 to keep it affordable and accessible. Make sure to get your shirt ordered before Sunday, August 30th. We can't wait to see our community filled and the stadium packed with these Railer shirts! On Fridays we wear Black & Gold!

The Newton School district also has many opportunities to purchase apparel. We have put together a list so that you can ensure you have all the Railer Gear for the year ahead! Let's support our Railer Nation.

This year Choose Newton Main Street and Newton High School are doing a Downtown Window Decorating competition. We are excited to continue to build our community Railer Pride! 

Businesses are asked to sign-up to offer their storefront windows to be used by Newton school groups, organizations, and classes to decorate. We ask that windows be decorated by Thursday, September 17 and that they are cleaned up by the end of the day on Saturday, October 3. This allows for windows to be up for roughly 2 weeks for the community to enjoy.

All Downtown Businesses are encouraged and invited to participate for free. Once we have a list of all businesses participating we will send the list to the school for pairings to be made. Businesses and student groups will be notified in September of the pairings. Thanks to Ready with Remme State Farm the winning window organization will be awarded a $500 donation to their school group. We can't wait to see all of the Railer windows Downtown!

Head Downtown for our annual Newton Schools Night at the September Third Thursday. Stores will be open late for you to enjoy. The Makers Market will be open on East 6th Street. This will be the final Makers Market of the season. Thank you to the Chamber for coordinating the Market! Newton School groups will be on West 6th Street.

This year we are excited to bring the Homecoming Parade to Downtown Newton! The parade will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 6:30pm. The parade will run down Main Street from 7th Street to 5th Street. We look forward to having the whole community Downtown to celebrate our Railers!

After the parade we will gather at Themian Park for a Community Pep Rally put on by Newton High School. There will be food trucks on site starting at 4:30pm. They will be open before and after the parade for you to grab food and drinks.

This year's Homecoming football game will be held on Friday, September 25 at Fischer Field. Come cheer on the Railers as they take on Goddard, listen to the marching band and drumline, and enjoy being with community! 

Before the game come out to tailgate! The Newton Fine Arts Booster & Robotics Club will be serving pulled pork sandwiches and meals from 5-7pm in the Fischer Field parking lot.

If you are an alumni coming back for the weekend or community members wanting some more fun activities Saturday, September 26 will be full of great opportunities to enjoy.

All day Saturday you can head over to Newton High School to cheer on the Railer Volleyball Team at their invitational from 9am-7pm. Come cheer on the ladies as they take on Buhler, Eisenhower, Wichita Northwest, Andale, Wichita West, Andover Central, and Wichita South. 

Saturday morning the Carriage Factory Art Gallery will hold their annual Art Carnival from 10am-2pm. Head over to Gallery and Krehbiel Park to enjoy all of the art activities which are great for children and the young at heart.

Saturday evening head over to Harvey County Now's annual Blues & Brews at Athletic Park from 4-10pm. Gretchen Rhodes and Borderline Natives will be performing. This is a great opportunity to gather as a class to catch up, listen to great music, and grab some wonderful food and drinks.

All of the NHS students can dance the night away at Willis Gym for the Homecoming Dance from 7-9pm.
