Help Celebrate Newton's Birthday

Newton is getting ready to celebrate their birthday and we are looking for local businesses and restaurants that would like to join the celebration. We want to invite you to participate in this wonderful community event. See the letter below explaining how Newton businesses can participate in celebrating Newton's Birthday!

To Local Businesses,

The City of Newton is excited to be celebrating their 154th birthday this coming February, and we want you to be part of the fun! This year's celebration will highlight our community spirit and offer ways in which residents and visitors can explore our wonderful community and all the locations that make Newton such a special place.

As part of the celebration, we are organizing a Community Birthday Specials promotion where local businesses can offer a discount, deal, or special item during the week of the celebration (February 14-22). This gives residents and visitors alike a wonderful opportunity to stop by, discover what you have to offer, and support local shops. All these deals will be put together in a birthday card to Newton that people will be able to pick up at various locations around town.

Why Participate:

• Increased Traffic - The event will draw both community members and out-of-town visitors, putting more eyes (and feet!) on your business.
• Free Promotion - Your business and special offer will be featured in our event marketing including social media, posters, and event guides at no cost to you. This will include marketing on Choose Newton & the City of Newton's website, social media, and newsletters.
• Community Pride - By participating, you help showcase the strength of Newton's local businesses and contribute to the festive spirit of the town's birthday.
• New Customers - Specials encourage people to try shops and restaurants they may not have visited before.

How it Works:

• Each participating business selects a discount, special menu item, or promotion to offer during the week of February 14-22, 2026. Please fee free to be creative and choose what fits your business best.
• Send your Birthday Special to ChooseNewton@NewtonKansas.com by January 11 to be included. Don't forget to include: Business Name, Address, and Birthday Special.
• Shoppers will be encouraged to make the rounds and enjoy all the different birthday specials and discover the amazingness that is YOU!

Newton's Birthday Celebration will continue with festivities on Third Thursday in Downtown on February 19. The weeklong celebration will all include a big birthday bash at the Newton Recreation Center for the whole community! This will be a great birthday celebration that you won't want to miss being a part of.
