Let's Make an Accordion Book

Newton Public Library logo

Teens (ages 10-18), please join us at the Newton Public Library on Monday, December 1st from 4-5PM in the Intrust room for a really cool art activity! Please read the description from your instructor, Rachel Buller, below.

"During this session, I will introduce teens to the concept of an accordion book and show them several different ways to make one. I'll show several examples made by students and by professional book artists. We'll talk about the book format as a means for storytelling and how a story can unfold through the pages. We'll practice paper folding and then get started on a finished version using different art papers." Dr. Rachel Epp Buller

Dr. Rachel Epp Buller is a Professor of Art at Bethel College. She's been folding paper and making artist books for many years, and she shows them in exhibitions around the country.
