Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and Cheer Zone

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is back, and we would love your support as participants make their way through Newton!

Community members are encouraged to help line Main Street with encouragement and positivity as runners travel from North Dillons to South Dillons during this year’s Torch Run.

Main Street Torch Run and Cheer Zone

• 320 N. Main Street parking lot
• June 3, 2026
• Torch Run: 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
• Torch Run participants expected to be around the Cheer Zone about 10:15 a.m. or shortly after

The Cheer Zone will be a short and energetic gathering lasting approximately 10–15 minutes from arrival to wrap-up. Bring signs, lawn chairs, friends, coworkers, family members, or simply yourself as we help create a fun and supportive atmosphere for everyone participating in this incredible cause.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics began in 1981 in Wichita, Kansas, and has since grown into a worldwide movement supporting Special Olympics athletes and increasing awareness through community involvement and law enforcement partnerships.

Let’s show up for our community and help make Main Street loud with support!
