First Chapter Book Chats (Grades 2-3)

Ideal for children in grades 2-3 who are ready to try First Chapter books!  Participants will read and discuss a book from our First Chapter Book collection and follow-up with a fun activity.  Books for the next meeting are handed out at the end of each session or can be picked up at the front desk to read ahead of time.   

Registration is required.  To accommodate more children, we offer two sections of First Chapter Book Chats.  Participants attend only one session per month, as it's the same book and activity in both sessions.  Choose one of the following sessions, space permitting:

• Every second Thursday of the month, 4-5 PM, OR
• Every fourth Thursday of the month, 4-5 PM  (January has 5 Thursdays, so sessions are on the third and fifth Thursdays).

When you register for a session, you will automatically remain registered for the same day of the month through May.  Registration opens 4 weeks before event.  If you have any questions, please email srickard@newtonplks.org.
